Who amongst you doesn't know the unique scent of the Dafina, this delicious meal of chabbat? Its taste and smell are engraved into our genes and cells forever. You know why? Because this perfume carries with it all the beautiful souvenirs associated with Chabbat and therefore manages to insert itself everywhere to awaken all the joy of those moments buried deep within us.

And that is what we are trying to create with this Net. We want this website to smell as good as the dafina of Chabbat and that its beams reach you wherever you are. This way we will be reunited and linked across this invisible web that is the Internet. Not just by emotional resiliency but because this culture with its traditions, recipes and souvenirs represent our identity. An identity that took us several millenia to accumulate ,an incredible wealth that will always be the best well we could draw from.

At the time when our future crosses a serious crisis as well in Israel as in Europe, and that the direct witnesses of our time in Morocco rarefy, it seemed crucial to us to take the initiative to gather our heritage and preserve it so that we could pass it down to future generations. Help us by sharing with everyone your photos, specific traditions, memories and documents.

 DAFINA
Traditional meal of Shabbat, this delicacy made of wheat, dried peas and meat was slowly cooked overnight in a low-temp oven.
The word comes from arabic "dafina or adafina" meaning "covered, smothered".
