Have 3 surnames that we lost their origins in time but at some point they were in Morocco. I don’t have any papers to prove my Jewish ancestry although that we kept our Jewish religious behaviours hidden among our doors during our stay in Portugal.
Tereza MORENO from Morocco (staied Mogador… now Essaouira?.. origin in Spanish who run from the inquisition)
Married in 1825 with Joaquim PARREIRA (southern Portugal Crypto Jew but has been also said among relatives that this family also come from Mogadour or Morocco)
Maria Catalina Amália MIRANDA: probably a fake name as the family fled from Morocco between 1840-1860… and adopted new identities in Portugal
Can you give me any information regarding this surnames and its possible stay in Morocco? Is there any other place or institution where can I get more info regarding this surnames? I am searching for proofs regarding my jewishness others than just physical or spiritual.
