Recipe for 15 to 20 donuts:
500g of flower
15 gr of baker's yeast
1 cup of luke warm water
1 tea spoon of salt
frying oil
Dilute the yeast into half a cup of luke warm water
Mix all the ingredients, flower, yeast and salt
The dough should be soft and flexible
Add half a cup of water or more as necessary
and work the dough for 5 minutes
Cover with a piece of cloth and let the dough rise for at least
three hours
Frying phase:
Heat up the oil
Work the dough again for a minute or two
Oil the palm of your hands,
form little balls with the dough,
shape the balls into tires.
Dip into the hot oil.
The dount are fried on both sides and served hot.
Serve with a side of honey or granulated sugar.
